Hey guys! Today I wanted to get a little more personal. When scrolling through social media and blogs, you see everyone’s highlight reels and not their daily struggles. While I am not an advocate for airing dirty laundry online, I did want to share something with y’all in hopes of having a few more prayers. 10 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. We got beyond lucky to find out that it was encapsulated and after a lumpectomy and some radiation, she was clear. Unfortunately, we found out last week that she once again has breast cancer. This time, it is a bit larger and has less defined borders… the doctor likened it to a broccoli spear. She goes in for her MRI today, so I just ask that if you get a minute, please send a little prayer. I know I am not alone in my struggle and that SO many people are affected by cancer. I know that I am blessed beyond measure to have two parents that have overcome cancer before. But know that I am praying for you as well. Thank you guys and I will update you with what they find.

  1. Of course! Your mom & her medical team are in my thoughts. You’re not alone, but your journey is still one worth praying over. *hugs*

    • Thank you Tarah! I am an only child, so it’s just me, my mom, and dad. I figured a few more prayers could only help 🙂

  2. I will be lifting your mom (along with you and your dad) up in prayer!! What a comfort to know that He is already there , knows what you need before you ask and loves your mom even more than you do! Hang in there sweetie…

  3. Cortney-I am not sure how I ended up on your blog the other day, but now I know why. My husband and I both worked with your mom when she was diagnosed with breast cancer the first time around. She handled her diagnosis and her treatment with such strength and grace and I know she will do that again this time. If I know your mom at all, I know she’ll kick cancer to the curb once and for all this time! I’m so glad I found your blog and learned of her diagnosis so that I can keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Please tell her The Moore Family loves her and is praying for her.
