I have recently upgraded my beauty routine (thanks to going a little nuts during Sephora’s sale) and have shared some new favorites via Instagram Stories. I was pleasantly surprised that many of y’all use and love these products, but many others had some questions about the products and tools I use to apply them. So since there are so many new products that I’m loving, I thought I would round them all up and share them with y’all here! I, unfortunately, had a few busts too. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see which products didn’t work for me.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

If you purchase one thing from this post, let it be THIS. I do realize that I’m late to the game on this foundation and y’all, the hype is REAL and it has quickly become my favorite foundation.

Don’t let the name fool you, this CC Cream is full coverage. Not only does it apply flawlessly and is beautifully blendable, it has SPF 50 and anti-aging skincare. It is clinically tested to increase hydration, smooth texture, and enhance the look of brightness. PLUS, they recently released a matte version for those with oilier skin.

Now while I have always applied my foundation with a beauty sponge or even my fingers, I have found that blending this in with a kabuki brush creates the airbrushed finish I was looking for. I apply one pump of the CC Cream to Tarte’s Airbursh Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush and then add a tiny bit of MAC’s Stobe Cream in Pinklite (OBSESSED with this!), dab it all over my face, and then blend it with circular motions. If I want a bit less opaque coverage, I’ll mix in Benefit’s Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation.

COVERGIRL Lash Blast Amplify Primer

Finally a drugstore lash primer that works just as well as prestige products, but for a fraction of the cost (it’s only $6.99 at Target!)! I was sent this product in PR and began to work it into my beauty routine that day. I can’t tell y’all how surprised I was a how well this thickened and lengthened my lashes! It is seriously such a high quality product and now I can’t do my makeup without it.

What I do to achieve a false lash look without the falsies is first apply Lash Blast Amplify Primer and let it sit for 30 seconds, then I’ll apply Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara for volume and finally L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black for separation. The result is the longest and fullest lashes without any of the clumpiness or flakiness.

Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel

Y’all all know that beautiful makeup application begins with a good skincare regime and for my fellow exfoliators, Dermalogica has recently launched a product that is for YOU. I have shared my dry, flaky skin problems with you many times before. I have a few patches of psoriasis on my face that tend to look like acne when I apply foundation over them and no topical creams have been able to fully clear this up. Luckily, I received Dermalogica’s Rapid Reveal Peel and have been using it over the last couple of weeks, followed by a moisturizer and honestly, my skin has never looked so hydrated and smooth.

This at-home, professional grade peel is unique because it comes in ten one-use tubes in a convenient zipper pouch. You apply one a day (for three days) all over your face and neck, let it sit for 7-9 minutes, and then rinse it off with cold water. After you have kickstarted the program, you’ll apply it only once a week until the kit is complete. This regime is going to be crucial as colder weather approaches and your skin’s oil supply diminishes. Or those with drier skin year-round, this peel is what your skincare routine has been missing.

Morphe Eyeshadow Brushes

One of the most commonly asked questions I have received as of late is what brushes I use to blend my eyeshadow. I have recently upgraded my tools and it has made my makeup application so much smoother and overall expedited the process. Who doesn’t love that?!

Despite all the recent controversy in the beauty community regarding Morphe, they make AMAZING brushes for an incredible price and I will continue to use and recommend these. I use Morphe’s M441 for blending and since they are only $6, I have a couple on hand for lighter transition shades and for the deeper crease shades. For the lower lash line, I stamp a dark color against my lash line with the Morphe M432 and then blend any harsh lines out with the Morphe M506. These products have truly changed the way I do my makeup for the better! If you want to snag all three plus three more must-haves for only $18, check out Morphe’s Eye Slay Kit HERE.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

I have yet to try an Hourglass product that I don’t like. Yes, they are a bit pricier but they are such a high quality cosmetics company and everything tends to last for months. While I love a blinding highlight for a night out, for a soft daytime look I love the light diffusing shimmer of Hourglass’s Ambient Light. I use the shade Luminous Light and sweep it over my blush, add a little on my forehead and blot it with a damp beauty blender, and finally down my nose and on my cupid’s bow. While many highlights accentuate your skin’s texture, this incredible powder smooths your skin and gives such a beautiful glow.

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray

If you love a luminous, dewy look to your skin like me, than you were also likely one of the first to purchase MAC’s Fix+ in Pinklite or Goldlite. In the bottle the product looks gorgeous and for the first few weeks of application, it was. Unfortunately as shimmer builds up in the nozzle from use, it no longer applies uniformly to your face leaving clumps of pink shimmer all over.

After some investigation, I discovered that Cover FX has a similar product and so far, I’m loving it even more! This spray locks your makeup in all day with a soft shimmery finish that catches light beautifully. The spray nozzle evenly distributes the product all over your face and the result is a gorgeous glow. I even apply this to my shoulders and collar bones for extra radiance.

I also want to share two recent products that did not work for me. I try to keep it positive here on my blog, but some of y’all have reached out to get my opinions on these products so here’s the truth…

I was so excited to try Benefit’s new Brow Contour Pro. It is incredible packaging – a pen that features four different shades that you can pop up or down to shade and highlight your brows. Unfortunately, the blonde colors were too dark for me and the highlight was just meh. Plus, the pencil is so thick that you’re unable to draw in individual hairs. If you are looking for an AMAZING, no-fail brow pencil, Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Brow Wiz is it.

Lastly, I wanted to love Anastasia Beverly Hill’s new Norvina Palette. The mattes and shimmers are stunning! Unfortunately, there is no good transition color for my skin tone. The shades were a little too deep and pigmented for me, plus the fallout (which they are known for) was extreme. I need to play around with this palette a bit more before making up my final opinion on it but for now, it’s just not one I reach for. What I have been loving is Urban Decay’s Born to Run Palette! You can do natural to dramatic looks and the mirror is AMAZING.
