Happy Tuesday! This post was scheduled to go up yesterday, but I got so caught up in running errands and prepping to be out of town the rest of the week, that it got pushed back to today. Jeremy and I are heading to Daytona Beach this afternoon and I am SO ready for the warm weather. What I can’t believe, however, is that the NASCAR season is already here! The off-season feels like it flew by.
If you’re new here, you may not know that I worked in NASCAR for six years before bringing my blog full time. I began as admin at an XFINITY Series team and then moved on to Travel Coordinator, Public Relations, and ultimately I was the Director of Marketing and Communications at my third team when I left my job last April. I developed this blog while working in the sport as a place I could share my love of fashion – something that doesn’t quite exist in auto racing. But as my years in the sport went on, my passion for blogging began to rival my passion for racing. Luckily, I didn’t have to choose! My husband is a driver and my besties do public relations, so NASCAR will always be a big part of my life 🙂
Jeremy and I just got back from Charleston and I am so excited to share some looks we shot with you! First up is this adorable pink & red sweater. If you haven’t been able to tell yet by my recent Instagram posts, I have been loving colorful, striped sweaters and cardigans. Paired with booties, these Spring-colored knits are the perfect, inexpensive transitional pieces for your closet. I layer them with a tank & a coat now, but these bright sweaters will work all the way through brisk Summer nights! This particular one runs true to size and I am wearing a size medium.
Since Jeremy and I live only a couple hours away from Charleston, it makes an easy getaway and we try to go as often as we can. While I love strolling the historic district south of Broad Street and admiring the gorgeous architecture, I also make sure to always pop over to my favorite local beach, Sullivan’s Island. This beach is the perfect compliment to the hustle and bustle of Charleston; you feel like you are miles from civilization. Plus, Poe’s and Obstinate Daughter are two restaurants worth the 15 minute drive.
You pass through Mt. Pleasant en route to Sullivan’s Island and time and time again I have admired the Caribbean restaurant, The Americano, right off the main strip. With a relaxing day at the beach on my mind, we have always driven right on by, but this time Jeremy and I carved out some time to stop by. Little did I know, it has unfortunately shut down some time in the past six months. It is currently up for sale and continues to be a hot spot for local photographers, so fingers crossed someone brings this gorgeous building back to its prime.
Happy Monday, loves! How are y’all feeling today? To be honest, Jeremy and I stayed in last night to watch the game. We had a little too much fun on Saturday night in Charleston and I was a zombie all day yesterday! Plus, Jeremy had a radio interview at 8am this morning, so it was Firehouse Subs & slumming it for the game. Soooo… no better day than today to share some cozy pajamas! I snagged this $24 set from H&M recently, but there are a ton of adorable options that would make the perfect Valentine’s Day present.
I have always been the girl that wore sweatpants and oversized, tattered t-shirts to bed but now that I’m married, I have had to up my game. I’m not going full lingerie (much to Jeremy’s dismay lol) because I am freezing in our home, so cute little sets make the perfect compromise. I am also a sucker for a cozy robe and have to talk myself out of wearing them all day long lately. When you work from home, it is way too easy to fall into a habit of throwing your hair into a messy bun and rocking comfy clothes constantly, but I may make an exception for this robe! It is SO sweet and currently in my cart. I hope a little bit of retail therapy helps get through this long Monday and y’all have a wonderful week. XOXO!
