I hope y’all had a great Halloween! We managed to make it to two more haunted houses last night – if you live around Greenville, Nightmare Dungeon is really good – and then I stayed up way too late last night watching scary movies. October has been such a fun, slam-packed month and with Halloween being one of my favorite holidays, it’s going to be sad to see it go.
But it’s time to switch gears and start planning some holiday looks! I was going to save this look for a little closer to Thanksgiving, but this cape is selling out FAST. And at only $29, I can see why. Buttttt, good news! I found a nearly identical version that is under $20 and comes in three colors. I already have the pink version in my cart and it will be perfect for hiding a food belly during the holidays.
Happy Monday, y’all! Phew… what a weekend! We have been going non-stop since Friday afternoon and if Jeremy hadn’t pulled me out of bed this morning, I would have slept all day! We spent Friday at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino watching Gary Allan perform and doing a bit of gambling (roulette is my weakness). Saturday, we drove over to Bryson City to explore because the mountains are just gorgeous this time of year. We found out they have four-hour train rides that depart twice a day that take you on a scenic tour (food and drinks included) through the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am trying to convince Jeremy to come back with me in December to do the Polar Express! Saturday night, we went over to our family’s house for a Halloween party and Sunday, we drove down to Atlanta to go to the Netherworld Haunted House and escape room. Goodness!
Buttttt all this running around was SO worth it to cram in the best October has to offer before it’s over. I’m basically in denial that tomorrow is Halloween and then Thanksgiving is only a few short weeks away. I am excited to share this easy fall outfit that is perfect for this time of year. This plaid flannel dress is such a cozy throw-on-and-go piece. It runs a bit large – I’m wearing an XS – and it’s 30% off today with code DRESSUP. I was also pleasantly surprised to find these boots in stock and on sale HERE. They are so comfortable and match all of my favorite fall dresses. Plus, the slouch fit is flattering on athletic calves. They are a must have!
TGIF, loves! I know it’s a littleeee soon to be outfit planning for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it can’t hurt to think ahead (Guilty! See this look). Especially since so many of the most popular pieces will be sold out by then! I picked up this sweater out shopping the other day and was thrilled to find out it was under $50 after I had been eyeing a pricier version. I am wearing a size small in it and the length is just perfect for skirt tucking, if you know what I mean – not too long that you’ve stuffing fabric down your skirt making the outfit bulky and not too short that your belly show when you lift your arms.
Now, I am off to get my highlights filled in and my extensions moved up so I don’t look like Shakira circa 2006 anymore! Jeremy and I are heading to Harrah’s Cherokee to see Gary Allan tonight and then have a Halloween party tomorrow night. And a quick P.S. for my horror movie buffs – we saw the new SAW movie, Jigsaw, last night and it was good! Not quite as gorey as the originals, so if you’re squeamish you’ll be able to make it through this one 😉
