I can’t believe I have lived in North Carolina for six years and have never visited Asheville (or Highlands or the Outer Banks – but who’s counting). Well that all changed a couple weeks ago when Jeremy and I hopped into a 2017 Toyota RAV4 and hit the road to the mountains. Asheville is under an hour away from Spartanburg (where Jeremy lives), but the RAV4 was so fun to drive, it wouldn’t have mattered if it took longer! Seriously, it features Dynamic Cruise Control which senses a car in front of you and slows you down – I can’t believe this technology exists now!
We only had 24 Hours to see everything we wanted to see in Asheville so the trip was a bit of a whirlwind. We arrived and went straight to our hotel, the Omni Grove Park Inn. Talk about stunning! Especially right before Christmas. There were decorated Christmas trees throughout the property, waterfalls, huge fireplaces with rocking chairs in front, as well as a gingerbread house competition. My favorite was the real life gingerbread house in the lobby where you could order hot chocolates.
I am all about comfort when it comes to my everyday style. Be it shopping, running errands, coffee dates, etc., I want to look polished but still feel relaxed. That’s why I grab some combo of this outfit when I’m heading out the door. Leather leggings literally feel like wearing PJs in public! I opted today for an edgier look (moto jacket + choker), but I could just as easily thrown on a tunic sweater and monogrammed necklace – the combinations are endless.
My favorite part of this look is how affordable these vegan leather booties by Christian Siriano are. Would you believe if I told you they were from Payless and are only $20?! I get so many compliments on these and people are shocked when they find out how inexpensive they are. My trick is to pair these faux leather booties with leather leggings to give the illusion of longer legs and girl – I need all the help I can get!
P.S. This choker and jacket have been sold out FOREVER, but are finally back in stock! Yippee!
Hey y’all! I’m back after a few days off… It was Jeremy and my first Christmas as an engaged couple and we had quite a few families to see! As an only child AND only grandchild, I had never been at Christmas with kids before (other than myself). The hustle and bustle of a full home on the holidays was such a fun change of pace, plus the looks on their faces when tearing in to the presents – priceless.
But now it’s time to switch gears and get ready for New Year’s Eve! I am attending a friend’s wedding that evening and am wearing this layered shirtdress from ShopBop. I love that it is preppy, but still fun! I paired it with OTK boots so it doesn’t look too school uniform-ish. This dress keeps selling out, so if you love it – be sure to shop it fast!
