Out of sight, out of mind? Do you ever find yourself not wearing your jewelry because it’s not displayed? These bottles will solve that problem! Now my bracelets and watches are easy to see and organized. Not to mention an attractive table top decoration! Have fresh flowers? Stick them in the bottles too. I picked these bottles up at my local Ross for between $2.99 and $3.99!
Red Maxi & Chambray

A couple months ago, I tried out my first yoga class with my friend Shannon. I have to say, I don’t think I’m cut out for it. I just cannot touch my toes for the life of me! I discussed this with the instructor following the class and, after giving me the once-over, she told me that my legs and torso are disproportionate. Since my legs are short and my torso is long, I may never be able to touch my toes. But hey, I’ve made it 25 years and it hasn’t killed me yet.
With that being said, there is nothing like a good maxi skirt to even out my frame. I wear heels every chance I get, but there are just some occasions where they aren’t appropriate. And high-waisted shorts give me (and honestly everyone) “mom butt”. Remember Jessica Simpson?
Enter the maxi skirt. The short girl’s best friend. It gives the illusion of long legs and is comfy to boot. I grabbed this one in red and green at Marshall’s!
Exploring Downtown Davidson

Shirt: Forever 21 Skirt: Marshalls (Similar Here) Bag: Coach Necklace: Francesca’s (Similar Here and Here) Watch: Michael Kors (Similar Here)
I can’t believe I have lived a whopping five minutes away from downtown Davidson for the past two years and have never explored it until today! It’s like stepping into a time machine with its little soda shop, barber shop, and a pizza parlor. And it’s given me wanderlust for my own backyard. Growing up in Atlanta, I have always felt that North Carolina is so tiny. But I honestly don’t give this state enough credit. So I have begun compiling a to-do list for the fall; what better season?
- Topping the list is a camping trip. Off of 321 in the mountains is Watauga Lake, which would make the perfect backdrop to a relaxing weekend.
- I have never been to the Outer Banks but I hear it’s beautiful! Many lighthouses to explore and even the drive looks beautiful.
- Only a couple hours away is Asheville and I’m thinking the perfect place to see the leaves change colors is at the Biltmore Estate.
- On October 20th, the 40th anniversary of the Carolina Hot Air BalloonFest is happening in Statesville. How fun?!
- I haven’t been to the Renaissance Festival since I was ten, but I’m ready to go again!
- And as Halloween approaches, I am looking forward to sampling pumpkin ale at the local breweries and visiting haunted houses.
Any other suggestions of fun things to do in North Carolina?
