Sorry for the little hiatus… I spent the weekend in Orlando at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and didn’t bring my computer! If you have never been, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The park becomes Halloween-themed at 6pm and not only are no children allowed, drinking is encouraged 😉 We invested in Express Passes and thank goodness we did because many of the lines for the haunted houses were two hours plus. With the passes, they were only 10 minutes long. It honestly wouldn’t be worth the trip without them because you wouldn’t get to see half of what the park had to offer.
The American Horror Story house was hands-down my favorite. It was so exciting to get to live through one of Ryan Murphy’s creations. Speaking of TV shows, we caught up on The Walking Dead premier yesterday and I won’t spoil it, but it was one of the most emotional and graphic of the series. Anyone else still heartbroken over it?
This outfit is a mash-up of all of my favorite fall pieces… each one of them is really a workhorse throughout the fall and winter months. We have been in the midst of a heatwave so I haven’t had the opportunity to wear as much fall gear as I’d like to, but I’m hoping we get a true fall before winter hits! This long-sleeved tunic is a layering piece you’ll reach for for months to come. And at $19, it’s tough to pass up!
Not to change the subject, but did anyone catch Rocky Horror Picture Show last night? Laverne Cox is such a superstar, I thought she did amazing! Being such a musical junkie, I can’t believe I had never seen it. My dad told me one of the first dates he went on with my mom was to a seedy movie theater in Atlanta to watch it. Apparently everyone dresses up and plays along! I have to find a place around here to check it out.
I am back with another collab with WeddingWire.com! They asked me to pen an article about my wedding planning process and my first thought was expectations vs. reality of weddings on Pinterest. You can check out the post on WeddingWire here or read on.
I remember the joy of discovering Pinterest for the first time; all inspiration was right there at my fingertips. I spent hours scouring recipes, fashion, and, of course, weddings. Years later and finally engaged, I ceremoniously made my private wedding board public…a rite of passage for all newly-engaged pinners. I reveled in the immaculate blush-sequined perfection that was my board. Everything matched, everything was crème de la crème, and blissfully unbeknownst to me, everything was out of my price range.
