I know I am a little behind the trend on this one, but why did it take me so long to start wearing peplum and scallops? This outfit is so comfy I seriously could sleep in it. Exactly what I need for these hot summer days. Lucky for me, BohoBlu carries these adorable scallop shorts in four different colors. And these blue ones are perfect for Fourth of July next week. I am counting down the days until I am at the beach! How are y’all spending the holiday?
I hope y’all are having a wonderful week! I’ve been busy planning my family’s Fourth of July getaway. Since part of my duties for the NASCAR team I work for is travel, I have become the official travel coordinator for the Dryden family. I am just excited to get to the beach and to see some racing while I’m there 🙂
I also received some exciting news this week when I picked up a copy of the new Indie Chicks magazine. My mug inside! You can pick up your own copy at any Barnes & Noble or Books-a-Million stores.
There are some silhouettes that never go out of style: fit and flare, shorts and tees, and my favorite, the maxi. A maxi is the short girl’s best friend, elongating your legs and giving you a proportionate frame. They’re so simple to pop on and have just the right amount of fabric for those brisk nights (and AC-blasted offices!)
As we head into the summer months, I tend to gravitate towards classic American style: crisp whites, breezy fabrics, and patriotic colors. Luckily for me, Macy’s is celebrating the people, places, and things we love with their American Icons campaign. Some things I love? This Vince Camuto tie-dye dress and this Jessica Simpson laser-cut maxi. Both could easily take me from a day on the lake to dinner with friends, my favorite way to spend a summer day in Charlotte.
