I feel like I have come a long way since this whole wedding process began. I have learned to make decisions quickly and firmly and never look back. I have learned that I can’t have everything I want, but that’s ok because I’m marrying the man I want. I’ve learned that I should work in the wedding industry because these people are making a killing. And finally, I’ve learned that secretaries don’t get the respect they deserve. The secretarial duties of wedding planning have kicked my butt! Luckily, Minted got me back on track recently and I had to share.
I made a grave mistake when doing my Save the Dates. I hadn’t collected addresses yet, so I ordered blank envelopes with the intention of printing them myself. Learn from my mistake! This whole process took an entire day and a half. With Minted, you can upload a Microsoft Excel file and they address/return address each and every one of your envelopes for you. Hallelujah! Another trick is to order a personalized rubber stamp or your address – you can easily use this on your RSVPs or to return address anything. I found this one for $12 on Etsy. Thankfully, the whole process of ordering my wedding invitations went much more smoothly and I sent them out yesterday! I can’t wait to hear who will join us on our big day 🙂
Anyone else needing a little extra coffee to get through this Monday? I blame The Talking Dead – I ALWAYS have to watch it right after The Walking Dead (especially when Jerry is a guest) and it keeps me up way to late on a work night, making Mondays extra rough. This Monday, in particular, is our last day at the shop before the NASCAR XFINITY Series season begins. We fly down to Daytona on Wednesday and I can’t wait! The best part about working in NASCAR is going to the racetrack, especially one at the beach!
I am packing this cozy pullover from Southern Marsh to wear on the flight. It comes in eight colors and it was so hard to choose between all of them. I am wearing the midnight gray and washed red. FYI – Southern Marsh has unisex sizing, which is great for me because I love a slouchy oversized look. But just keep that in mind when ordering. This is my third sweatshirt I have ordered from them and have been a small in every one (for reference, I am 5’4).
TGIF! I am about to kick off a relaxing weekend, but I wanted to pop in and share one of my favorite looks with y’all! I have had a crazy week and am looking forward to a couple chill days before the NASCAR season begins next week. First of all, we literally just got an email from Royal Caribbean stating that Kusadasi has been removed from our cruise itinerary because of Turkey’s “unpredictability”. How crazy! It’s so hard to believe that such a beautiful place is experiencing such awful things right now.
Also, I went to my first dress fitting a couple days ago and lordy, there were SO many options of how to alter it. I wasn’t expecting to make so many decisions. I have been on the Ideal Protein diet for a couple months and am down a size (yay – I’m going to chat about my experience with it soon here), but the seamstress told me I need to maintain until the wedding now. If I gain or lose weight, the dress won’t fit and there won’t be time to alter it! No pressure or anything. This may be just me, but when I had the dress, heels, veil, etc. it honestly made me feel like I was going to faint. I am such a bundle of nerves about standing in front of everyone. I know it’s silly, especially because I blog, but I hate being the center of attention. Anyone else have this problem?
