Helloooo Monday! It was a long weekend and I am actually looking forward to being back at work after such a crazy weekend. I wanted to start by thanking everyone who followed along and chatted with me on WeddingWire’s snapchat Saturday as I looked for my wedding dress. It was so much fun to get everyone’s opinions and they were such a big help in making the final decision. I went with a Hayley Paige gown but I am going to wait until the wedding to share it in case my fiance checks my blog 😉

I also mentioned Friday that I went to the emergency room for severe hives that covered my whole body. Well, I am still unsure if it is an allergic reaction because they lasted about 4-5 days and are just started to clear up today. My hands and lips are still a little swollen, but the itchiness is gone. Thank goodness! Has anyone dealt with hives before? How long until they are completely gone? And could the stress of wedding dress shopping have caused them?

  1. Yes! about the hives. I got them starting about the the same time frame in my wedding planning, and only on my hands. Apparently it’s called dyshidrotic eczema and it is often associated with allergies, but it can also be brought on by stress. There are many different types of skin reactions to stress, though. Before going off to college, I got hives everywhere, several times. At least this was less embarrassing. Anyhow, the first time it took about two weeks to completely heal, but I continued to get them on a lesser scale for the subsequent months, and I am still dealing with them a month after my wedding. If it happens again, I would suggest talking to your primary care doc about the stress factor. Even good stress is still stress. I like the outfit though! Very cute mixing up of basics that will get so much mileage in the colder weather!

    • Thank you so much for the info Beth! I have psoriasis already, so the doc said an auto immune virus/allergy could be the cause but they just don’t know. I have a feeling I will have a few more outbreaks before the wedding planning process is complete. I don’t know why wedding dress shopping made me so nervous?! lol
