Honeymoon Packing List

Is anyone else as excited for spring as I am? I cannot wait for fun colors and warm weather! And with under three months to go until our honeymoon, I have already started purchasing various things for the trip. We have plenty more to plan for the wedding and bachelorette party, so I wanted to have the whole honeymoon squared away weeks before our big day, especially since our flight to Rome departs at 6pm the next day. I am not a fabulous planner, but hopefully I can have it all packed and set aside ahead of time.

For anyone who’s curious, we are going on a Mediterranean cruise. Our ports are Sicily, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Santorini, Athens, and Naples. Just FYI – Not trying to brag, this trip is literally once in a lifetime. Unfortunately, thanks to the NASCAR schedule, our cruise fits in to the time we have available perfectly, but leaves no time left over to explore Rome. So even though we are boarding the boat there, we won’t get to see any of the city. And as dorky as this sounds, I threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain when I was much younger in hopes I would return with my love. I guess that will have to happen in the future!

But, for anyone who has been to these places, I would love to hear your suggestions for what to do! We’re thinking about visiting Ephesus while in Kusadai – it’s where the prophet John wrote the Book of John and where Mary’s final home was after Jesus’ crucifixion. People leave their prayers for Mary in the fence surrounding her home like they do Juliet. They’re written in every language, but most pray for love. As for Mykonos and Santorini, we were planning on just exploring the main cities/beaches. I have never been to Sicily or Naples, but they look beautiful!

The weather in Italy and Greece in mid-May is very similar to the weather in North Carolina – some days may be scorching hot, while others may have a slight chill. I plan on packing my trusty denim jacket as well, but wanted to share some of the pieces I’ve purchased (plus pieces in my shopping cart). If you love something, I would say pull the trigger even though its February. Many of these things are already beginning to sell out!

Dresses:

I love a good flowy dress that can double as a bathing suit coverup. I snagged this pom pom trimmed dress and this yellow maxi, both in a size 4 and they fit like a glove. I have also already received the white dress. I tried on a small and an XS and I like the look of the XS better. I thought it would be cute to wear for my bachelorette party as well!

Sandals:

I love a fun shoe when it gets warmer outside, but I hate paying big bucks for all the embellishments. Would you believe me if I told you the first four pairs of these sandals were under $60?! I sized down one half size in the espadrilles and the lace up sandals, but the tassel Sam Edelman pair fit TTS. They’re all even cuter in real life!

Jewelry:

I tend to go big or go home with my jewelry in the spring or summer while wearing more muted metals in the fall and winter. I am so excited about all of the fun pom pom and tasseled jewelry that has just come out! Can this trend please never go out of style? And for you more modest ladies, this layered Y necklace is so chic and farrrr better priced that I have seen lately.

Bags:

I am going to go broke thanks to all of the beautiful handbags on the market right now. I just received the pom pom clutch (gorgeous) and I own the black tasseled round bag which is such a steal! I used the large straw tote as my beach bag last summer and it has held up so well, but I am considering snagging that bamboo bag to go with all my dresses. It just recently came back in stock and is under $100! Finally, I have a birthday in April so I will be begging for that Rebecca Minkoff or Zac Posen crossbody – I don’t know how I’d ever decide between the two!

Swimsuits:

Dare I say bathing suits this season are the cutest they’ve ever been? I scooped up that black bikini and it is so dang flattering! Hands down, my favorite suit ever. I also grabbed the OTS pom pom suit, which will look so fab with jean shorts. And while I have my eye on the tasseled white one-piece (it’s pricey), I just received the wrap around bikini (I got size medium in both pieces) and it fits great. I cannot wait for temperatures to heat up 🙂
