How to do Louisville like a Local

I had the pleasure of visiting Louisville, Kentucky recently and phew! What a weekend. I had never been to Louisville before and while I had some preconceived notions, I went in with an open mind. Luckily, we had a born and bred local, Katie of Go To Louisville, show us the ropes. It didn’t take me an hour in Kentucky to learn three things that they take very seriously: horse racing, bourbon, and the pronunciation of their city. It’s loo-ah-vull, by the way!

Overall, my expectations were completely exceeded. This isn’t some honky tonk town, this is a thriving, cultural, trendy city with some of the nicest folks I have ever met. I felt right at home on Day 1 and wasn’t ready to leave come Day 3. So come along with me as I walk you through the highlights of this weekend and add some things to my own to-do list for when I return.

Postcard from Positano

I realized recently that I had never gotten around to posting photos from our time in Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Which is downright crazy, because this may be the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life. This post won’t cover any fashion because who cares what I’m wearing when the scenery is this stunning! But I hope it is helpful to anyone traveling to the Amalfi Coast on a cruise ship or for vacation.

Naples was the last stop on our Mediterranean cruise and while there are endless options for a port day here (Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri, Blue Grotto, etc.), I would highly suggest a private tour of the Amalfi Coast. We booked our tour through The cruise ship we were on, Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, didn’t have an excursion that did exactly what I wanted to and Francesco had AMAZING reviews on Trip Advisor. His good friend and Sorrento-native Marco hosted our tour. He picked us up from the port at Naples and shared extensive information on the area as we drove the hour drive to Positano.

Girls’ Weekend in Charleston

I recently returned from a trip to Charleston with my blogger besties Kelssey and Sara and I wanted to share all of the details from our trip. Charleston is my favorite city in the Southeast to visit, not only because of how drop-dead gorgeous it is, but because of how many things there are to see, do, and eat!

Charleston really is a city for everyone: the foodie, the romantic, the ghost-hunter, the thrill seeker, the party animal, the beach bum, or the history buff! You name it and you can create a weekend around it in Charleston. In the past I have shared my bachelorette weekend here and a romantic weekend with the hubs, but now I wanted to chat all about a girls’ roadtrip weekend.
