I am in the midst of a big week – my birthday week! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. On the docket today is bridal portraits, then it’s back home to finish up packing because I’m leaving for the RewardStyle Conference in Dallas tomorrow morning.
If that wasn’t enough, I am turning 29 tomorrow (omg) and thought it might be fun to share 10 facts about myself that y’all may not know. There have been some BIG changes around here and since the list continues to grow, I thought it might be fun to mix the announcements in with some interesting quirks about myself. And there’s no time like a birthday to share everything! So here we go…
I feel like I have come a long way since this whole wedding process began. I have learned to make decisions quickly and firmly and never look back. I have learned that I can’t have everything I want, but that’s ok because I’m marrying the man I want. I’ve learned that I should work in the wedding industry because these people are making a killing. And finally, I’ve learned that secretaries don’t get the respect they deserve. The secretarial duties of wedding planning have kicked my butt! Luckily, Minted got me back on track recently and I had to share.
I made a grave mistake when doing my Save the Dates. I hadn’t collected addresses yet, so I ordered blank envelopes with the intention of printing them myself. Learn from my mistake! This whole process took an entire day and a half. With Minted, you can upload a Microsoft Excel file and they address/return address each and every one of your envelopes for you. Hallelujah! Another trick is to order a personalized rubber stamp or your address – you can easily use this on your RSVPs or to return address anything. I found this one for $12 on Etsy. Thankfully, the whole process of ordering my wedding invitations went much more smoothly and I sent them out yesterday! I can’t wait to hear who will join us on our big day 🙂
I can’t believe we are in the final stretch of wedding planning now! If I think about it as a whole, it’s entirely too stressful. So I try to keep in mind the major things that we have accomplished. We booked the honeymoon this month, a cruise through the Mediterranean. Jeremy has never been to Europe before so I can’t wait for him to see how beautiful Italy and Greece are. We also booked the bachelorette party (Charleston, look out) and the bridal shower.
As an added touch to the parties, I love sending out formal invitations via snail mail. I partnered with Basic Invite to design these bridal shower invitations. They have every kind of card you can imagine! Once you pick a design, you can change the colors, font, text, etc… it was so easy! (Finally, something easy about wedding planning) Plus, they were under a dollar per card. For more designs, check out Basic Invite’s entire selection of bridal shower invitations.
