Friday Five

One
I went to my first blogger meet-up courtesy of The Charlotte Social on Monday at Nordstrom. We sipped champagne while shopping for holiday outfits styled by Bre of Baubles and Bubbly. It was nice to meet like-minded ladies and discuss all things bloggy. I learned a lot from some of the girls and can’t wait to try their tips! As a newbie, any bit of advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for the invite Bri!

I’m a sucker for a deal and two great shops have fallen into my lap this week! The first of which is Golden Stella, a wholesale jewelry store at America’s Mart in Atlanta. Basically every statement necklace I have ever coveted online is on their website but at a fraction of the price! Granted, you do have to spend a minimum of $100, but just get a couple friends together and go to town! Below are a few of the necklaces I snatched up to add some sparkle to my holiday outfits 🙂

Secondly, it’s official… H&M is FINALLY in Charlotte! I headed out to the opening yesterday at Northlake Mall and it was pandemonium! I had to try clothes on in the middle of the store (over my clothes of course) because the line was so long, but scooped up a few cute pieces. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks the madness will die down because I need my H&M!

I discovered Monday that folks’ initial reaction to my blog’s name is that it is about law. What better way to squash that assumption than with some leopard-print business cards!? I made these guys in my spare time yesterday because I am hoping to attend more blogger meet-ups in the future and found myself in genuine appreciation of the ladies who gave me a card. I was also more likely to visit their blog. Win-win!

I booked my ticket for New York City on Sunday and am counting down the days until I get to see my bestie Kathleen! Aside from the temperature and heavier suitcase to accommodate all of the layers, I love the city this time of year! I am already trying to come up with my Santacon outfit. I’m thinking a red dress with a fur collar, white tights, black boots, and a Santa hat.

Side Note: I had been eying the above boots in tan for a little while now and went into my local boutique to buy them. They were sold out in my size, but she told me I could just purchase them from Just Fab. Luckily for me, when you sign up for Just Fab, you get your first pair of shoes for only $19.95! So I wound up saving $40 on the boots and already know that the quality is good. Just a tip for first-time Just-Fabbers 😉

I have also been eying the Karen Walker Super Duper sunnies in black, but cannot bring myself to pull the trigger until trying them on in person. I’m looking forward to swinging by Barney’s to find out if I love them as much in person!

It’s the final race of the NASCAR season! Where did the year go?! I can’t believe that I have had the pleasure of working for RAB Racing for over two full seasons now! We have come so far in the past few years and I am looking forward to 2014 already.

I have had such wonderful opportunities this season as I grow as a graphic designer. Some of the highlights included launching RAB Racing’s new website and designing the car numbers for Kenny Wallace and Alex Bowman’s cars. Outside of my team but still within the realm of NASCAR, I was lucky enough to design Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s hero cards, Tommy Baldwin Racing’s website, and the social media for Are You Faster Than A Redneck? I am blessed to work with such wonderful people.

But with the racing season ending means that it is officially the holiday season. I cannot deny it any longer. Currently, the shop guys have the radio on Christmas music and I’ve seen more blogger gift-giving guides than I can thumb through. Time to get shopping!

Launching Lavendar Boutique Website

I am so excited to be launching the new Lavendar Boutique website today for owner Sherry Pollex. It is so often that I do automotive-related projects, that it is a breath of fresh air to do a girly site!

Located in Mooresville, NC, the Hollywood Glamour inspired store will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the streets of New York! Lavendar features the latest designer labels from Bella Dahl, Splendid, Sanctuary, Ella Moss, Three Dots, Tart and more and if it’s the latest denim from the runways of NY you’re looking for, Lavendar carries the largest assortment of designer denim in the area, including Hudson, Joe’s Jeans, Paige Denim, True Religion, Citizen of Humanity, MOTHER, Seven For All Mankind and more.

But let’s be honest. It’s hard to build a site for a boutique without coveting a few of their pieces… okay okay, A LOT of their pieces. I’ve already built the perfect fall outfit in my head. Military jacket, moto jeggings, gold necklace, two-tone booties… yes please! Shop it below.

After weeks of anxiety and indecision, I am proud to say I have purchased my first vehicle! Moreover, I am just elated that the whole car buying experience is behind me. It was miserable. Truth be told, I am one of those people who makes it a lot harder than it has to be. But after countless trips to countless dealerships, I was finally able to get exactly what I wanted: a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. Folks who know me well know that my first vehicle was a 1989 Chevy Silverado lovingly named Ron Burgandy, so it wasn’t a stretch for me to return to my roots. Just wanted to post a few pictures of it because I have never been so in love with a vehicle before!

On the fashion tip, I just scored these tan booties from Marshall’s. We’re venturing into that weird time of the season where it’s not quite appropriate to wear sandals anymore, but you’re not ready to retire your summer dresses just yet. Throw on a pair of tan booties and a denim jacket and problem solved!
