Finding the Right Denim Fit & Style

Happy Thursday, loves! If you haven’t already, it’s about time to start updating your denim wardrobe for Fall. This has always proven such a struggle for me… please tell me I’m not alone! Denim is one of the trickiest things to shop for, but also one of the most necessary. Luckily, I was recently introduced to Stage Stores and their extensive selection of jeans and the discovery couldn’t have come at a better time. My go-to skinnies from years past were stretched out and overwashed.

Y’all may not immediately recognize the name Stage, but under their umbrella are approximately 800 specialty Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage specialty department stores and 58 Gordmans off-price stores in 42 states across the US.

I made sure to read through their Guide to Denim Fit & Style to help narrow down my options. The guide is great at helping determine which style of jeans is right for your body type and brings up styling tips that I hadn’t even considered. I, personally, was in desperate need of a good pair of skinny jeans for pairing with all my boots throughout Fall and Winter. And while I am loving the comeback of flares, it’s tough to beat a good pair of distressed skinny jeans. Levi’s 535 Super Skinny Distressed Dark Wash Leggings are a steal at under $40 and checked all of my boxes – low cut, dark, distressed wash, and super stretchy. Since these are so slim fit, I would suggest sizing up one size in them!

Stage isn’t all denim though! They carry some of my favorite designers, so naturally I had to snag a good basic sweater and a colorful Fall bag to complete the look.

Thank you to Stage Stores for sponsoring this post. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

I hope y’all are gearing up for the long holiday weekend. I know I am! And I am certainly doing some sale shopping because they are SO good. Plus, I feel like it’s getting weather appropriate to finally start purchasing some Fall pieces and I am here today to share a can’t-miss pullover. While I’m dressed up quite a bit here on the blog, I wanted to get real about basics and the pieces that I actually wear on a daily basis. I love lounging, running errands, working, and just about everything in comfy oversized sweatshirts. But until recently, finding one that is the perfect length for leggings without looking ridiculously big on me was impossible… until I found the Aerie Hometown Sweatshirt.

Now, I have to tell y’all that this post isn’t at all sponsored, gifted, whatever. I just LOVE this sweatshirt and don’t want you guys to miss out on it, especially when it’s on sale for only $27! I am sharing how I styled the camo and white versions below, but I do want to share a little bit about sizing before you run off to order one 😉 They run VERY large since they are meant to be oversized. I am typically a size medium in Aerie and American Eagle pieces, but after reading reviews I ordered a small and XS and wound up going with the XS. I basically have nothing but good things to say about these pullovers which is why I had to dedicate an entire post to them. Happy sale shopping, loves!

By now, y’all know that I love color. It’s very rare that you’ll find me in neutrals, but I will ALWAYS make an exception when I find pieces that are as classic as these. I recently fell in love with the color combo of gray, tan, and white – it is so chic! Each of these pieces can be worn time and again with almost everything in your closet. This genuine suede jacket, for instance, I purchased almost three years ago and continue to wear season after season.

But let’s get to the important stuff – the Labor Day sales! They have started early this year, which is a fabulous surprise. That way I can shop now and spend time with friends and family over the holiday weekend. For now, I’m planning on heading to Darlington to watch Jeremy’s race, but I’m hoping to convince him to pop over to Charleston for a couple days afterwards because it’s so close.
