Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you guys all had a great weekend. Jeremy and I spent the weekend in the mountains – first in Bristol for the race, then to Tuckasegee for a wedding, to Sylva for photos, and finally Cherokee for dinner and some gambling at Harrah’s. Phew! Suffice it to say I was worn out yesterday. No matter how hot and green it still is up there, being in the mountains gets me so excited for Fall. I’m already making plans, unbeknownst to Jeremy, to return when he has some off time. And it got me looking forward to a fun blogger trip next month – stay tuned for that!

But in the spirit of Autumn, I am excited to share a few pieces that you’ll be able to wear and re-wear all season long starting with this gorgeous cardigan that is guaranteed to sell out. It’s under $50 and I sized up to a medium for a more oversized fit. This $25 skirt has also been a fun addition to my wardrobe. It comes in quite a few different color options, but the cognac was the perfect shade to match my tan accessories. I always size up one size in H&M bottoms and am wearing a size US8 in this.

But the real MVP is this cream sweater tank. If you scroll through my Instagram feed, you’ll see that I have styled it in a TON of ways! It is seriously so versatile and hands-down my favorite transitional piece. I am wearing a size small in it for size reference.

Key Transitional Pieces from Talbots

As August continues to steamroll on through, kids have gone back to school, and pumpkin-scented goodies begin making their appearance, I have been on the hunt for the perfect pieces for Fall. Throughout the Spring and Summer I would describe my style as feminine and colorful, but when it comes to Autumn, I gravitate towards more classic and preppy looks. Thank goodness that Talbots has me covered! (Literally) I began shopping at Talbots a year ago after discovering their cheeky sweaters and plaid puffer jackets and I was pleasantly surprised by how well their clothes are made, how good the fit is, and how spot on sizing is. So when I was in the market for key Fall pieces, it was an easy to return!

Two things that no closet should be without is a good pair of white skinny jeans and a chambray button-down. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. If you’ve looked around for white denim, then you know if can be a Goldilocks and the Three Bears scenario – too tight, too see-through, too uncomfortable. Luckily, Talbots took all of these things into account when creating their Denim Jegging. They are made with 2% spandex for a stretchy, comfortable wear and even have tan pocket fabric so you can’t see them through the jeans! Plus at 5’4, the cropped cut is the perfect length for me. They run TTS and my regular size 27 fit like a glove.

It was a no-brainer to complete the look with a denim button-down. The weight and the wash sold me on it and it’s pretty wrinkle-resistant, which is seriously a testament to Talbot’s quality. It’s currently on sale for under $25 and I got my regular size medium. Stay tuned for this combo to make continuous appearances here. I am already picturing a vest, Hunter Boots, and boot socks when it cools down!

Styling Hunter Boots for Fall

SHOP HUNTER BOOTS:

I know that August has just begun, but if you love the look of Hunter Boots in the Fall, NOW is the time to invest in a pair. Hunter Boots are notorious for selling out of styles and colors as the weather cools down and you definitely don’t want to miss out on that must-have shade.

Picking a color is oh-so-personal, but y’all may have noticed that may favorites are the pink sand and red. The pink pairs perfectly with cognac, navy, and olive green throughout the Fall and the red is my go-to color for transitioning to Winter.

Y’all may have heard that sizing for these wellies is a little tricky. I rounded up everything you need to know before buying Hunter Boots HERE, but I typically suggest ordering two sizes from a retailer like Zappos or Nordstrom that offers free shipping and returns. That way you can be totally sure you’re getting the size that best fits you. For example, I am a true 8.5. I ordered a size 7 and 8 and found that the 7 actually fit best.

Now, there are endless ways to style Hunter Boots and they’re all relatively self-explanatory, but I just wanted to round up some of my favorite looks for inspo and share some of my favorite Fall pieces I plan on pairing with them.
