Instagram Stories are so important for bloggers, brands, and marketers alike. Not only do they let your followers get to know you better, they can actually improve your engagement. Say what? It’s true! Since your stories boost engagement, your Instagram posts have the chance to appear higher in people’s feeds! And we need all the help we can get with this ever since Instagram changed their algorithm.

I recently discussed the algorithm update at length and how it is hurting organic reach, but there is good news. While organic reach is DOWN across social media platforms, it is actually UP on Instagram Stories. So I wanted to chat with y’all about how to make your stories the BEST they can be so you can get more eyes on your Instagram posts and ultimately, your blog or website.

That being said, I wanted to add a quick disclaimer: these are solely my opinions. I’m writing this not to chastise anyone’s business practices, I’m writing this so that other bloggers don’t feel alone in their frustration. We’re all feeling it! I’m fortunate to have a close group of blogger friends that I can bounce ideas, thoughts, and stress off of, but many bloggers don’t have that community. Maybe they’re just starting out or live in a small town. Either way, I want you to know that the confusion and pressure you’re feeling is felt by us all.

RewardStyle Conference Takeaways + Recap

 SHOP THE POST:

I recently returned from Dallas where I attended my first RewardStyle Conference. Talk about inspirational, stressful, fun, and informative all rolled up into one! If you follow a number of bloggers, I’m sure you’ve seen the hashtag #rStheCon shoved in your face all weekend long. But a number of people had questions about what really goes on at these things (I know I did!), so I thought I would take you through the conference and share my takeaways and outfits.

I’d followed other bloggers through this weekend in the past, but nothing can prepare you for the whirlwind it actually is – let’s just say I haven’t worn heels or makeup since coming home or don’t intend to any time soon. It’s three days straight of classes, brand meetings, networking, and parties designed to whip your blogger butt into being the best it can be. While there were so many lessons, big and small, I learned, I wanted to share the overarching themes of the weekend.
