I have had a lot of questions recently about what products I use to do my makeup, so I wanted to do a quick roundup of my favorite beauty products and why I love them so much. I am completely ride or die when it comes to brands and products and use a mix of high and low end. When I find something that works, I stick with it. If you scroll to the bottom of this post, the final photo is an unedited snap of my face featuring all of these products so you can see the finished product.
First of all, let me preface this with my skin details. I have relatively dry skin. I actually get patches of psoriasis on my forehead and in my eyebrows (girls who have psoriasis, I feel your pain!!) Ironically, I also get cystic acne every so often and I’m amazed at how both can exist in such close quarters. But cystic acne only comes as one bump at a time and doesn’t make my skin oily. So oily-skinned girls – these products may not work as well for you.
2017 is upon us and I, for one, am ready for it! I know a lot of people poo pooed on 2016, but it was one of the best years of my life. I got engaged to the love of my life, took some amazing trips – Jamaica, Cozumel, Spain, Big Sur, Blowing Rock, Charleston, San Fransisco, Disney World, Beaufort, Asheville, and more! I went sky diving for the first time, climbed a waterfall, played with baby tigers, got to see my man post the most top-10 finishes of his career, and all the while got to grow this blog that is such a passion of mine! I want to thank y’all so much for stopping by my corner of the web and continue to follow along, it means so much to me 🙂
As a HUGE proponent of investing in classic pieces and saving money on trends, I wanted to share with y’all my favorite purchases of 2016 – these are items I wore/used regularly throughout 2016 and will throughout 2017 and beyond. Just click on the title of each piece to shop! I’ll follow up with the items I have my eye on for 2017 next week.
One of the most fun parts of blogging is getting the opportunity to try new products. There have been hits and misses, but I wanted to share the products that hit the nail on the head. From cleanser to self-tanner to makeup, I use these every single day and literally can’t live without them. I use almost entirely drugstore products for my eye makeup (you can read all about that here), but when it comes to my face I truly invest in it. Some of these products are a bit on the pricier side, but I promise you get what you pay for.
