I wanted to walk y’all through my every day makeup routine and share what products I use that don’t break the bank. When it comes to makeup, I love to experiment and regularly try new products. But there are a few that I use religiously and SHOCKER, they’re all drugstore products! When it comes to my face, I do splurge. (I swear by this primer and this contour palette) But after trying so many different eye and lip products, I find my favorites at the local drugstore.
After applying my face makeup, I move on to eyes. I wear quite a few different eyeshadows depending on what I am wearing or the look I am going for. For a soft look, I wear this eyeshadow and for a going-out look, I wear this palette.
Liquid Eyeliner: L’Oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Eyeliner
Prior to making the swap a few years ago, I had been using the Lancome Art Liner ($30) … I forgot it on vacation and tried out this liquid eyeliner and now there is no going back. To apply I actually begin my lining the top of my eyes with this drugstore gel liner and brush. But if you can liquid line without needing the gel, than you can skip that step entirely. It just helps me to create a straight line. I make sure to start thin near my nose and get thicker as I extend out. This liquid liner lasts longer than its Lancome counterpart and never flakes… really, you could honestly wear this for three days!
Eyeliner: L’Oreal Infallible Eyeliner
I apply this eyeliner in my bottom water line and it lasts a good chunk of my day. Here’s a trick for a little more eye drama: apply this eyeliner in your top waterline too. It will create the illusion of thicker eyelashes without looking like you have more makeup on. I gently pull my eyelid up from the brow bone and apply this eyeliner in the top corners of my upper waterline. It is super pigmented (comparable to MAC and Urban Decay that I had previously worn) but you don’t have to sharpen it, just turn the dial. I used to get eyeliner all over me when I would sharpen them, so this has been a life-saver!
Eyebrow Pencil: Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil
This eyebrow pencil works double duty for me, so I am always stocking up on it at the drugstore. I make sure to keep it super sharp and shape and extend my eyebrows with it. The soft brown color is the perfect match to my brows and it goes on really smooth. Adding some color and thickness to your brows (without going overboard) is the easiest way to breathe some youthfulness into your look. Once I am finished with my brows, I apply this product right below my waterline and lower lashes (as opposed to eyeshadow) to deepen the look of my eye makeup. The soft color amps up the look without looking heavy.
Mascara Primer: L’Oreal Voluminous Primer
I have always have some thickness and length to my eyelashes, but I didn’t realize what I was missing until trying this product. After curling my lashes, I apply two coats of this white primer mascara and let them dry before applying mascara. It has substantially thickened and lengthened my lashes and has cut way back on me wearing falsies. Seriously, if you are considering Latisse or eyelash extensions, try this product first!
Mascara: L’Oreal Telescopic in Carbon Black
I would say of all the makeup I use, this is my secret weapon. The brush prevents clumps and separates and lengthens like you wouldn’t believe! I HATE the spiky look but thankfully, even after a few coats of this mascara, you eyelashes look full and soft. I cannot rave about this mascara enough!!
Lips: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color
This product is relatively new and basically encompasses everything I am looking for in a lipstick. It is super pigmented and stays on for hours. It has the matte look I love but it isn’t those formulas that dry after you apply (Like Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick or Stila Stay All Day Lipstick). This remains moist without rubbing off. I love the staying power of those other lipsticks, but they get too dry on my lips and then flake off throughout the day. Thankfully, Revlon Lip Color doesn’t. I already own Devotion and Embrace (similar colors to the Kylie Lip Kits), but I want to buy the whole set!
Make-up Setting Spray: NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
I can’t rave about NYX cosmetics enough. They are so reasonably priced that you can try a little of everything. While I mix up my lip colors with theirs quite often, the everyday product I use for them is the makeup setting spray. Once I finish my face makeup, I spritz this all over my face and let it dry. It will dilute my makeup a bit which I love because it gives it a natural look before I head out of the house. But most importantly, it will hold all of my makeup in place which is great during the summer!
There you have it! All of the drugstore makeup products I use every day. Below is the finished product 🙂 Hope I can help save y’all some money or provide an alternative when you are in a pinch! Let me know in the comments if you have any other drugstore products you swear by!
