Summer Makeup Favorites

When it comes to beauty products and skin care, I am constantly on the hunt for the latest and greatest, especially when it comes to updating my makeup for Summer. Of course I have my ride-or-dies, but there are a ton of new products that I have recently worked into my makeup routine and wanted to share with you. As it gets warmer, I want my makeup to adjust as well – I’m talking sunkissed colors, luminous primers and setting sprays, and warm eyeshadows – but where to start? And what is really worth the hype?

While I continue to learn about beauty, I realized that there were still a few areas of my makeup routine that were lacking: my powder left a cakey finish, my eyeshadow never blended exactly how I wanted it, and my contour shade wasn’t quite right. Thankfully, after multiple visits to Sephora and Ulta and even dipping my toe into the Hush App craze, I had found a routine that I’m sticking to this Summer.

ASOS 20% Off Sale Picks

Happy Monday, loves! I am getting a slow start to the week after spending the weekend in Asheville celebrating a friend’s birthday. I have been to Asheville once before – we went up for a more slow-paced, romantic getaway and stayed at the Omni Grove Park Inn and toured The Biltmore. But goodness, I didn’t realize what a party city it really is! So my butt is still whipped. Now that I’m 30, I don’t recover nearly as fast as I used to. Phew!

But I am excited to kick off Monday with a big sale at one of my FAVORITE retailers, ASOS. If you have been following me a while, you know I shop here ALL THE TIME. ASOS is amazing because they offer free shipping and returns so I’m able to purchase multiple sizes to try on at home with no hassle. Plus, if you spend over $100, you get free two-day shipping. They’re going even bigger offering 20% off of EVERYTHING with code SUNNYDAYS until 3:00am EST on May 23rd.

I love the consistency in their sizing, as well. I am 5’4 and a true size 6/27 and am always a size US6 in all of their pieces. So I wanted to round up all of my recent looks (there’s a lot!) and share them with you because y’all should never have to pay full price. Almost all of the looks are under $50! And if you scroll to the bottom, I have shared what I’m shopping from the sale.

TGIF, loves! Jeremy and I just returned from Charleston and I am so excited to share a few looks with you today. If you’ve read here for a while, you know that we’re only a couple hours away from the Holy City, so we try to pop over there once a month or so… whatever fits both of our schedules. And as the weather heats up, no trip to Charleston is complete without a day at Sullivan’s Island. This beach is so tranquil and undeveloped – it seriously is my happy place. My tip: put Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse or The Charleston Light into your GPS and head out to the beach via the boardwalk 🙂

When it comes to packing for a Charleston getaway, you’ll naturally need dressier pieces for nights out on King Street, but always remember to pack some casual looks for beach days. My go-to brand lately has been The Southern Shirt Company. Y’all may be surprised to know that away from the blog, I am a t-shirt and shorts kind of girl but that doesn’t mean that I’m not getting my daily dose of pink in my wardrobe.
