I’m gonna go ahead and admit it: I have always wanted that dewy look to my face that the Kardashians have. While some people like the look of a matte face, I love a glowing, luminous look to my skin. It is just so youthful! Unfortunately for me, I have psoriasis across my forehead that just zaps the oil out of my skin and leaves my makeup flaking off after a few hours. We all have our skin problems and my happens to be dryness.

It seems like there are endless remedies out there for oily-skinned women, but it has been a ton of trial and error for my issues. Thankfully, I finally have a makeup routine that accomplishes this glow-from-within skin and I had to share it with you! Bear in mind if you err on the oily side, just adding one of these products to your routine will help you achieve the coveted dewy look.

Becca First Light Filter Face Primer

I have been a multi-year user of Smashbox’s cult primer and while it is GREAT for normal to oily skin, my makeup routine was changed for good after discovering Becca’s primer. Their First Light Filter Face Primer feels much more like a light lotion than a silicon gel like many primers, which made me skeptical. But after reading the ingredients of prickly pear flower, sodium hyaluronate, and spring water, I knew I was set in the hydration department.

It has a very fine shimmer to it that lets your skin glow from within once you apply your foundation on top of it. On days I am not wearing makeup, I still apply this so my skin looks bright and moisturized. I have heard of women applying it to their hands, as well, to give a more youthful appearance to them!

MAC Next to Nothing Face Color

If you are a fan of the no-makeup look, MAC’s Next to Nothing Face Color is your new BFF. It has coverage similar to a BB Cream and lasts for hours. I picked it up in the shade Medium which works perfect on a range of skin colors. I apply a few pumps to the back of my hand, swirl in the Tarte Airbrush Finish Foundation Brush, and then apply it to my face. The face color allows my skin to shine through and keeps it looking natural, but better.

For a bit more coverage, I LOVE Chanel’s CC Cream. It is my workhorse foundation and my go-to if I am going to be out in the sun all day. But since it is on the pricier side, I reserve it for special occasions.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter

After loving Urban Decay’s entire Naked Collection, I knew I had to try their Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette. For the price, I couldn’t believe how many different products you get and how well-made the packaging is. There are four cream contour and color correcting shades as well as four contour and highlight shades, plus two mirrors.

I had always been a powder contour girl, but after trying the cream contour in this kit, I can’t go back. It is so much more natural and buildable than powder. When I want my makeup look dramatic, though, I use a little of both. Using a thin synthetic cream contour brush, I apply the darkest cream contour and then use Becca’s The One Perfecting Brush to apply a bit of the deepest contour powder Be light-handed with it because the powder is very pigmented, but it is seriously impossible to screw up a contour with this brush!

MAC Glow With It Extra Dimension Skin Finish

Leave it to MAC to come up with a highlight, bronzer, and cheek color all in one. MAC’s Skin Finish in Glow With It is an updated take on highlighter. After contouring and adding a hint of blush, I apply it to the top of my cheek with the MAC 141 Synthetic Face Fan Brush for a warm, shimmery look.

My biggest issue with highlighters in the past was that the glitter wasn’t fine enough and would accentuate my skin imperfections. And on a normal day running errands, I didn’t need to be blinding anyone, I needed something more natural. Plus, you can even skip blush all together with this product!

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

This is literally the pièce de résistance. Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is certainly a luxury buy for $48, but worth every penny if you ask me. I found it when I went on the hunt for a hydrating setting spray and couldn’t believe how many five-star reviews it has. I even heard Kim Kardashian mention she uses this product on her recent YouTube video with Jaclyn Hill! A little goes a long way, so I only use about three spritzes on my face and I can’t believe how well it fights my biggest daily skin issue: dry, flakey makeup.

This dewy skin mist does not replace your makeup setting spray. I still use my Urban Decay All-Nighter to lock my look in before a couple sprays of this. But if you purchase one product from this post, let it be the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist – it is really THAT good!

Thank you to M·A·C Cosmetics for gifting a few of their products. All opinions are 100% my own.
